If you aren’t familiar, K9s for Warriors is the nation's largest veterans service organization where disabled American heroes are given their very own well-trained and skilled service dog. This organization saves the lives of the two and four-legged variety by rescuing and training shelter dogs and pairing them with vets who need emotional support more than anything else.
Every 65 minutes, a veteran commits suicide.

This impactful program is working to end veteran suicide by giving our nation's heroes a supportive companion that they can always trust — just like their brothers and sisters outside the wire.
The presence of a support animal can improve the health of these veterans in several ways. It's been proven to increase the desire to exercise and reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and loneliness.
